The side of Sentinel Watchtower Drey has been designed to accommodate a camera mount, giving you a clear view inside the squirrel box.
Recommended CameraS
The Sentinel Watchtower Drey is compatible with several leading outdoor security cameras. During checkout, customers select a camera mount designed for their preferred camera model. Please note that Squirrel Boxes does not include a camera with the Sentinel Watchtower Drey. The camera must be purchased separately. Direct Sunlight Risks
Squirrel Boxes does not recommend using a solar panel for the camera box. The box must be mounted in the shade, without exception, to prevent the interior from overheating and endangering the little ones who cannot leave. Placing the box in direct sunlight violates the recommended installation guidelines and puts the squirrels at risk.
Solar panels also have cable length limitations, making it nearly impossible to position them far enough from the shaded box to reach proper sunlight. For safe and effective use, a direct power connection is the only reliable option. Please follow the setup guide for proper box placement.
Power & Protection Recommendations
Reliable power and basic protection make the camera setup more dependable. We recommend using an outdoor-rated power cable for your camera, then protecting the cord and connection points from weather and chewing. A simple cord protector and a weatherproof surge protector at the base of the tree help prevent disconnects and extend the life of your setup.
vALUABLE cAMERA aCCESSORIES
A couple of accessories make installation easier and improve video quality. A sturdy adjustable mount helps you dial in the angle for the clearest interior view, and an outdoor housing can reduce glare and weather exposure. Use the mount point built into the Watchtower Drey for the most stable camera placement.
